No matter how skilled or experienced you are in the market - you will always come up against the same issue every time. The competition. For every position or vacancy there are many more people trying to get the same job. I felt that way many times - and its always a numbers game. The more interviews,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the more offers. But often its the first stage that most people struggle with and the problem, of course,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], is getting your resume or CV noticed. Imagine yourself in the interviewers shoes for one moment - they're faced with a pile of CVs on the desk and have to trawl through them to build a shortlist of interviews.
How can you ensure your resume or curriculum vitae stands out? Firstly a little trick I learnt in the recruitment industry was to put a coloured border around the edge of the cover letter or front page of the document. Blue normally works best, looks professional and is enough to catch the eye.
Secondly - remember that you are selling yourself, and so to do that your resume has to be a sales document too.
Start with a Mission statement about who you are and then follow it with a paragraph about what you can do for the company. Once you have this the interviewer will scan down your resume for key points (he won't even read it), so you have to make the key points stick out. Always think in terms of the tired manager who just wants to make a quick decision without a lot of reading. Make his/her job easy!
