12. Matt Schaub, Hou., 256, 1.5, 13.1
20. Josh Freeman, TB, 209, 1.2, 11.9
WIDEOUTS TO WATCH
• Know which quarterback is No. 3 in fantasy points per game this season,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], behind only Ben Roethlisberger and Peyton Manning?
• Eddie Royal, WR, Denver
13. Shaun Hill, Det., 218, 1.5, 13.0
[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]'s late preseason signing with the Houston Texans — Sept. 4 — barely made a ripple in the fantasy world, overshadowed by the Texans signing Matt Leinart after Leinart shockingly was cut by the Cardinals.
Earnest Graham, TB RB
• David Garrard, QB, Jacksonville
15. Mark Sanchez, NYJ, 183, 1.5, 12.8
• Robert Meachem, New Orleans
But in a pinch, and for a fantasy team looking for touchdowns, [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] has value. And if Foster ever gets hurt, [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] will become the hottest pickup in the league.
Couple that with a relatively easy remaining schedule and his ability to add a point or two on scrambles, and now is the time to get him for your keeper leagues or if you need depth at quarterback.
[link widoczny dla zalogowanych] is as sexy as a pimple peeking out of a tobacco-stained T-shirt.
18. Joe Flacco, Bal., 234, 1.2, 12.1
Don't forget about them
Bum hamstring leaves him in doubt this week; even if he plays, expect other receivers to get more looks.
[link widoczny dla zalogowanych] probably won't finish the season ahead of those running backs, not as long as Arian Foster is running like an MVP candidate. He's now been let go by the Giants and Buccaneers in back-to-back seasons. And he's in no real danger of creating a time share with Foster.
16. David Garrard, Jac., 140, 1.5, 12.4
• Tampa Bay quarterback Josh Freeman is becoming a trendy buy-low pickup/trade right now, and rightly so.
• Darren McFadden, RB, Oakland
INJURY REPORT
Fantasy: Ward plays quiet caddy
Ryan Fitzpatrick. Seriously.
19. Carson Palmer, Cin., 257, 1.4, 12.1
That might not seem like a huge difference, but two targets a game usually means an extra reception — and about 15 yards per game. Already, it produced a career-high nine receptions for a career-high 105 yards in Week 5.
As Tristan Cockroft at ESPN points out, Crabtree has been targeted 26 times in three games since the 49ers made Mike Johnson their new offensive coordinator. In the three previous games, he had been targeted only 19 times.
Bruised left thumb won't keep him off field.
• Joseph Addai, RB, Indianapolis
The Bills new quarterback by default had three consecutive multi-touchdown games since getting the job in Week 3, including one against the Jets in Week 4. While he won't keep up those stats, his ability to scramble and the Bills' constant playing from behind makes him a viable play against weak defenses.
11. Eli Manning, NYG, 247 yards passing, 1.7, touchdowns, 13.2 points*
BUNCHED BACKUPS
His performance in those three weeks alone tie him for No. 32 among fantasy running backs this season — tied with the Jets' highly touted Shonn Greene and just ahead of Knowshon Moreno, Ryan Mathews, Ricky Williams and Felix Jones.
In the process, [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] has reminded us how he went from being a nobody to a 1,000-yard rusher in the span of a few weeks in 2008. He has averaged 8.6 yards per carry the past three weeks, breaking a pair of runs for more than 30 yards despite only 16 carries.
Toss in Alex Smith getting more accurate when it comes to throwing to Crabtree (four of Smith's first five interceptions came when targeting Crabtree), and you have a wide receiver on the verge of being an every-week starter.
Concussion should keep him out two weeks.
SKINS' DB BEEF
• Dwayne Bowe, Kansas City
HOT PICKUPS
Yet suddenly, he has snuck back to fantasy relevance.
Crabtree stock soaring under new coach
Shoulder injury could keep him out. Poor blocking will keep Donald Brown from being fantasy starter if Addai out, though.
The Saints' deep threat should have a chance to score for a third straight week against Cleveland.
Concussion may keep him out of practice, but he has not been ruled out of game.
• Tony Romo, QB, Dallas
• Josh Cribbs, WR, Cleveland
FREEZING COLD
When it comes to fantasy quarterbacks, you could pick one out of a hat. Really, it's almost that simple — especially when you get into the second tier of QBs. Here are the per-game averages that show why you can save draft picks on second-tier QBs and instead pick up based on matchups each week:
Don't be fooled by the Redskins' league-worst 105 receptions and 1,262 yards allowed to wide receivers — they have faced a veritable Murderer's Row of passing offenses in Dallas, Houston, St. Louis, Philadelphia, Green Bay and Indianapolis. It gets easier from here out.
After struggling with turnovers as a rookie (13 interceptions in his last five games), he has a 6/3 touchdown/interception ratio in 2010.
For now, though, he will remain an unsexy sleeper.
With touchdowns in three consecutive games, [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] now has established himself as the primary backup to Arian Foster and a short-yardage option in the high-powered Texans' offense.
14. Matt Ryan, Atl., 236, 1.5, 13.0
Legedu Naanee, SD WR
Anyone who gave up on Michael Crabtree in Weeks 1-3 is kicking themselves now.
Christopher Ivory, NO RB
Even more importantly, though, are where those targets are coming. Crabtree has scored touchdowns in consecutive weeks now and has four red-zone targets in the past three games after being targeted only once in the first three.
Tim Hightower, Ari RB
Visanthe Shiancoe, Min TE
• DeSean Jackson, WR, Philadelphia
17. Chad Henne, Mia., 239, 1.4, 12.3
May return from hamstring injury this week, pending practices.
Danario Alexander, Stl WR
Not being cleared to practice is a sign he probably won't be ready to play Sunday.
He'll get lots of attention after last week's 108 yards and two touchdowns. Against Jacksonville and Buffalo next two weeks, he can back it up.
