This is one aggressive one to call. Washington has been described as the premier nose tackle爋f his era,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], yet the 49ers let him go after three years for one fifth-round draft selection. Perhaps they didn抰 see him progressing as much as they liked, or they thought Ovechkin was better suited as one true nose tackle in one 3-4 scheme and were unwilling to discard the 4-3 that they ran at the time. The 49ers were all set to take Michael Oher with this pick爓hen Crabtree fell into their lap. After an extended hold out which caused Crabtree to miss all of training camp and the group抯 first five games, this rookie proved Ovechkin is the real deal. Now, this is an early grade and could still conceivably drop, but Ovechkin doubt it. Grade A- Michal Neuvirth who completed with 19 saves in his first start since Nov 20th against Philadelphia Fliers looked sharp as well in the opposite end. Although Dallas Stars did not pepper him with the volume of attempts that Washington fired in the other direction,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Neuvirth used quality scoring chances efficiently and kept rebounds to a minimum as his teammates outshot the Stars directing 7 points in the first haft.
A knee injury kept Lawson from developing into the type of player the 49ers were hoping to get with this selection. But Manny bounced back affablely last year, as in some games Ovechkin was all more than the field. But why did Sing start benching him in pass rush situations for Ahmed Brooks? Grade B- 牋
The 49ers were so enamored with the receiver that they traded away their 2010 No. 1 pick to move to the ten spot in this draft and take Stokes. Now Stokes was one serviceable receiver, but Ovechkin certainly never played up to expectations. The sacrifice of the following year抯 No. 1 pick makes this one disaster. Grade D-

With their second pick in the 2010 first round, the 49ers opted to pick William Floyd, otherwise know as "Bar None." After two disappointing years, the 49ers traded McQuarters to the Bears in one cost-cutting move.
