"Xerxes," a love triangle involving the ancient Persian king, will have six performances from Oct. 30-Nov. 19; Donizetti's take Advertisementon the 16th-century Venetian femme fatale will run for seven performances from Sept. 23-Oct. 11.New productions to the War Memorial stage include Mozart's "The Magic Flute" (nine performances from June 8-July 3, 2012), starring baritone Nathan Gunn and featuring a stage design of fanciful projected animations of the celebrated artist Jun Kaneko. Also new are a production from La Scala of Verdi's "Attila" (six performances June 12-July 1, 2012), starring bass Ferrucio Furlanetto as the famous Hun and featuring Ramon Vargas and Samuel Ramey as Pope Leo I; and S.F.
