David Moore: 12 to 15 touches for Felix Jones Jersey wouldn't surprise me
David Moore, Cowboys beat writer for The Dallas Morning News and SportsDayDFW.com, answered readers' questions in a chat Friday. Some excerpts:
On whether the Cowboys will replace the quarterback if they don't make the playoffs:
If the Cowboys don't make the playoffs this year, they won't be looking to replace the starting quarterback. Tony Romo is the starter here for years to come,NBA Jerseys, regardless of how this season unfolds.
On whether Jason Garrett will stick to running and getting the ball toFelix Jones Jersey:
There has been so much attention directed at this topic in recent days that I do anticipate Felix Jones Jersey will get more carries against Tennessee than he has in any other game this season. I wouldn't be surprised to see him get 12 to 15 touches. But don't look for the Cowboys to make a steady diet of it. He may get a two to three week run of more touches, but then the roulette wheel will spin and land on another offensive player.
The Cowboys want Felix Jones Jersey fresh for the stretch run. You saw what he did last season in December and January. The Cowboys would like to see a repeat performance. That's one reason I believe their cautious in how many touches he gets at this stage of the season.
On whether the Cowboys found someone to fill in at linebacker during the bye week:
They need to. The Cowboys play 13 straight weeks now. Brooking and James can't continue to play almost every snap as they have these first three games.
The Cowboys have been pretty good on third down defense, so my sense is that Wade Phillips will be reluctant to spot either player there. It's more likely that he will let them catch their breath on first and second down when the Cowboys are in their base defense. Rookie Sean Lee should absorb some of the snaps against Tennessee. Even Jason Williams might get a few.
On which coach will be the first to be fired:
I don't know that any coach under Al Davis can feel good these days. Then there's Carolina. The Panthers haven't won a game yet and John Fox has been there a long time.
On who would replace Alan Ball if he was injured or pulled from play:
If Ball goes down, Mike Hamlin would likely step in, although it did raise some eyebrows that he wasn't active for the Houston game.
