The previously announced debut of Christopher Theofanidis's 9/11-themed "Heart of a Soldier," starring baritone Thomas Hampson, on Sept. 10 may be the only opening-night production with ink barely dry on the score, but anticipation is sure to be keen as well for the long-awaited arrival of Pulitzer Prize-winning Berkeley composer John Adams' much-admired "Nixon in China" on a Bay Area stage.
