Big fourth quarter powers Atlantic City over Ocean City
NEW YORK,NFL Jerseys, Sept. 15 (UPI) -- Chicago running back Matt Forte earned the NFC's weekly offensive player award Wednesday after showing his versatility as a receiver in a Bears victory.
Forte ran for 50 yards and piled up 151 yards and two touchdowns receiving in Chicago's season-opening 19-14 victory over Detroit. The third-year player's 89-yard TD was the longest reception by a running back since Jamal Anderson Jersey in 2001 and tied the record for longest play from scrimmage by the Bears at Soldier Field.
Arizona Cardinal safety Adrian Wilson picked up the conference's award as the best defensive player for the week, and Green Bay Packers kicker Mason Crosby took the special teams award.
Wilson, playing in his 10th pro season, had two interceptions, a sack and a blocked field goal in Arizona's 17-13 win over St. Louis. It's the fourth time he's won the weekly award.
Crosby kicked two field goals and three extra points in Green Bay's 27-20 win over Philadelphia. The fourth-year player set a franchise record with a 56-yard field goal.
