Is Bruins' coach Julien on firing line?
So you want to be a head coach in the NHL? It's hard to believe, but it appears that Boston's Claude Julien is the latest name being measured for a firing.
The Boston Record reports that "recent comments during radio interviews by team president [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] and general manager Peter Chiarelli hardly quieted the talk."
Julien's reaction to the speculation: "That's the nature of the beast. We all know that as coaches. It comes around every once in a while.
"I don't let that get to me. Whatever is being said or whatever happens, that's not in my control,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]," Julien added. "I come in every day with the same intentions: to coach the club and make it as successful as I can. I'm going to coach the same way, [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] do what I do the best I can."
I suspect the heat on Julien has lessened considerably since the Bruins flew into Florida this week and left with four points following a 3-2 shootout win against the Panthers and got a winning power-play goal from Mark Recchi with only 19.7 seconds left in regulation against the Lightning -against formidable odds.
A rested Tampa Bay team went into the game on a 6-0-2 streak, with the season's biggest crowd (20,204) cheering them on.
