A Brief Summary Description of Psoriasis
Normally [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the skin replaces itself during skin turn over in a process that takes about a month to complete. During this period the skin cells growing under the skin slowly rise to replace the aging skin cells on the top skin. In the case of psoriasis however, skin turn over takes place in just a few days. This is as a result of the heightened activity of the T-cells in the immune system of the psoriasis patients. The result of this is a rapid pile up of skin cells on the top skin, leading to the characteristic swelling and scaly appearance on the skin of the psoriasis patients.
Information on psoriasis reveals that psoriasis can be made worse by other factors including smoking, changes in whether, certain medications, infections and stress factors. The symptoms of psoriasis come and go although psoriasis can be a long term disease. It has been known to last for a lifetime in some cases. The fact that psoriasis can affect any part of the body also means that it can sometimes prevent the psoriasis patient from carrying on their day to day activities. As a result, psoriasis can be a limiting disease.
In turn, when there is a rapid increase in skin turnover, there is also a rapid thickening of the top skin because of the pile up of dead skin cells. The pile-up of dead skin cells brings about the whitish scaly appearance on the skin of psoriasis patients. As the skin continues to thicken, blood vessels on the skin increase and expand. This explains the reddening of the skin and the visible inflations evident in psoriasis cases.
Psoriasis is a chronic skin disease that it is caused by the dysfunction of T-cells, which are part of the disease and infection fighting immune system. The T cells in the immune system spring into action and trigger a series of other immune reactions. The immune reactions cause a rapid skin turn over leading to thickening and reddening of the skin, not to mention a whitish scaly appearance on the skin of psoriasis patients.
The National Psoriasis Foundation basically explains that T-cells, which are part of the disease fighting white cells in the body dysfunction by accidentally springing into action when there is no obvious reason for the T-cells to activate. The result of this accidental fast action of T-cells is a rapid skin turn over in psoriasis patients that cause the skin cells to be created faster than they are shed off. This causes a rapid pile up of dead skin cells on the top layer of the skin of psoriasis patients.
Psoriasis is a chronic disease that is caused by a dysfunction in T-cells [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], which are part of the immune system in the body. According to the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases, psoriasis is caused by a problem in the human immune system. In which case, skin cells that grow under the skin abnormally rise to the surface of the skin and cause the visible symptoms of psoriasis on the skin of the patient during the process known as "skin turnover."
