Detroit-area man in critical condition after blast
WAYNE,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Mich. – The owner of a suburban Detroit furniture store who was pulled from a burning building after a natural gas explosion destroyed his business,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], killed two people and injured two others remains in critical condition.
University of Michigan Hospital spokeswoman Shantell Kirkendoll says Thursday that Paul Franks remains in the burn unit at the medical center in Ann Arbor.
Wednesday's explosion could be felt for miles and collapsed the store in Wayne,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], about 15 miles from Detroit, which had stood for more than 40 years.
Sixty-four-year-old James Zell of nearby Westland was found dead in the debris Wednesday night,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych],[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], along with a body of an unidentified woman. Both were employees.
Investigators are trying to determine what led to the explosion as crews clean up the mess.
