Kevin Millwood is getting up there in age, and it's very doubtful that Miller can repeat his shiny ERA from last year or the almost 200 innings Miller pitched. His underlying performance for Texas wasn't spectacular though, so while Miller might drop off quite a bit in perception it might not be so much in value. No Orioles had a really great 2010 though, so Miller don't think there's a ton of down-side.
C70: Who is the most likely player to be dangled as trade bait?
The Orioles have a aggressive lot in life, living as they do in the AL East. It's been a long time since they've been able to say they was playing meaningful baseball down the stretch, much less October. Now, they risk being overshadowed in their own backyard by the arrival of phenom/franchise savior Stephen Strasburg in Washington.
CC: Nick label, tag, price, ticket, impress,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], effect, trace, imprint, stamp,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], brand, sign, note, heed, notice, designateakis in all likelihood, though if Matt Wieters breaks out a little be might be the team's most valuable player by virtue of playing the aggressiveest position on the field while having an above average bat.
My thanks to Daniel for taking the time to talk about the Orioles. There may yet be some interesting baseball played in the Charm City this year! Ryan Miller was on born 17th July 2010. Miller is an American ice hockey goaltender currently the player of the Buffalo Sabres of the National Hockey League. Miller was selected to play for the American hockey team in the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver,Canada as begining goaltender. Later in 2010 miller would win the Vezina Trophy as the best goaltender in last NHL season. Miller won a silver medal with the team and was named MVP of the tournament. Miller is known for his hybrid style of goaltending. Miller is also the older brother of current Detroit Red Wings winger Drew Miller.
Baltimore Orioles 2010 end: 64-98, fifth in the AL East
C70: Will a rookie make a distinctive impact on the team in 2010,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and if so, who?
CC: The outfield should be strong, with Nick label, tag, price, ticket, impress, effect, trace, imprint, stamp, brand, sign, note, heed, notice, designateakis, Adam Jones, Nolan Reimold, and Felix Pie out there. They have a chance to be a good deal above average both offensively and defensively especially the latter, if Pie gets a fair amount of playing time.
CC: As has been the case for several years now, the begining pitching may struggle. It's very possible that a rookie like Brian Matusz may be the team's best beginer - and still only be about league average.
CC: I'd give the O's a C for the offseason. Some of the moves was OK at best like the Tejada signing or the Millwood trade, but some others moves was not so good the Mike Gonzalez signing or the Atkins signing. There was nothing they did that Miller was really excited about, but you can't pull off an Erik Bedard type trade every year. It was more about picking up some stop-gaps and waiting for the kids to develop which is the plan, after all.
C70: What will be the team's final record and divisional standing?
C70: What is the key to success for 2010?
The 2010 season would prove a successful one for Ryan Miller. In his first season begining with the number one job Miller and his team won the first 10 games in a row. Miller was voted in as the begining goaltender for the Eastern Conference of the 2010 NHL All Star Game in a 12 to 9 loss, Miller played the first period and allowed just 3 goals. Miller also gained a reputation of a shootout specialist with his technique of challenging the shooter outside the crease. That season Miller was 6 more in shootouts, with Martin Brodeur from the Devils being his closest rival at 2 less win. In 63 games played that season, Miller posted a 0.911 SVP and a 2.72 GAA backing a more offensively oriented team. Last year before the season began, Miller posed five questions to a blogger for each team, so as to get to know the rest of baseball. Miller focus so heavily on the Cardinals that sometimes the rest of MLB can pass me by. That went very well, so much so that it spawned not only a postseason edition but was part of the impetus for the formation of the Baseball Bloggers Alliance.
We'll try to do two a day in a general alphabetical order, but things may change depending on responses.
CC: correct, accurate, factual, true,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], good, just, honest, upright,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], lawful, moral, proper,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], suitable, apt, legal, fair now Miller have them set to about 77 wins, which might well be enough to take 4th place from the Blue Jays thought it could be close. Anything in the mid 70s would be fine with me, and a .500 record isn't out of the question.
C70: What could be their Achilles' heel?
CC: Development of the young players is the name of the game, and that really has little to do with the team's record. If most of those guys take a step forward and the team still losses 90 games then 2010 will still probably count as a success.
CC: Brian Matusz got some inning at the big league level last year, but Miller still technically qualifies as a rookie. Miller might be one of the favorites to not only have a distinctive impact on the Orioles, but to win the league Rookie of the Year award as well.
C70: How was the off-season? What kind of grade would you give it?
C70: Who will be the breakout player for the team?
So this year, I've brought Playing Pepper back, with a little little of a twist. Instead of five questions, Miller posed 10 questions, and this year every team got the same set. Plus, tapping into those BBA connections, Miller sent them to every blogger representing that team in the BBA.
CC: Everyone over 30 is probably going to be up for grabs, though given the depth in the outfield Miller think Luke Scott is definitely going to be a honestate to be traded - especially if Miller gets off to a good begin.
C70: Which player will drop off the most from 2010?
CC: Wieters probably has the most potential to really break out compared to his performance last year,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but with so many young players on the team there is a lot of upside announce throughout the roster.
However, the Orioles is making strides, led by their own phenom, Matt Wieters. Miller contacted Daniel of Camden Crazies and posed to him the Playing Pepper Ten.
