Her final two decades began with the glitzy 1991 marriage (it was her final nuptials, lasting five years) to construction worker Larry Fortensky at Michael Jackson’s Neverland ranch, but while it was an ostentatious occasion Taylor was eventually able to channel that excess and fame for the public’s good.
