Teva has two new multi-sport shoes new for winter 2010 - the Forge Pro and the Forge Pro eVent – and the company reckons they're top all-rounders and 'some of the most advanced footwear available in the outdoor market'.,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]
The long-established hybrid specialist says it's brought all of its 25 years of experience to bear on the new models with a new Mountain Cross Trainer – MXT – chassis and some serious work on the rest of the shoe.
The [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] in both men's and women's versions feature an aggressively lugged outsole with a reverse lug E-Brake area on the heel for downhill traction and the wet rock-friendly Spider 365 rubber compound for wet grip.
There's a compression-moulded EVA mid-sole with a blended PU/EVA Shoc Pad heel section claimed to transfer the energy of heel strike evenly through the footbed and then use it to give added spring on push off plus a TPU stiffening plate for stability and a glass-filled nylon shank for stiffness.
Then there's the intriguingly-named Moulded Mush Infused insole,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], which is direct injected into the liner of the shoe and reckoned to give extended comfort over longer treks.
The uppers are made from synthetic leather and mesh with a TPU Exoskeleton and reckoned to dry faster as a result. And as you've probably worked out from the name,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the Forge Pro eVent is basically a Forge Pro but with a waterproof and breathable eVent membrane liner.
The basic Forge Pro retails for £90 with the eVent version at £110. Weights are around 440 grammes for the men's model and 351 grammes for the female equivalent. Look interesting.
