That numerous of us share a similar happiness is apparent in the speed with which a crowd of feathered dresses have recently flown out of Whistles; guy enthusiasts are presumably already admiring those at Gucci,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Lanvin, Chanel and Alexander McQueen (entire of whose vintage feather chips are immediately heirlooms). Suffice to say, my only objection is to peacock trimmings, for superstition weighs heavier than the lightest of feathers.
But for all that, there's something about feathers that makes my heart bound, maybe for they talk of wings (or to quote Chanel: 'fashion is in the atmosphere, borne above the wing').

Which is why, behind much consideration, I have come to realise that the party clothes I love maximum are little dark dresses with feathers accompanied, whether as an inherent part of the chart,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych],[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], or as accessories (shoes, shrugs, jewellery).
The iconic plea of the little black dress needs no beyond explanation than that expressed by Truman Capote in Breakfast at Tiffany's in his memorable detailing of Holly Golightly: 'there was a consequential good taste in the plainness of her clothes… that made her, herself, bright so.' Of lesson,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Golightly added pearls, as whether in reflection of the noted originator of the look, Coco Chanel, in a medley that remains a quintessential emblem of chic.

Thinking behind to that moment of humiliation I am prompted of Virginia Woolf's confession: 'Everything to do with dress - to be fitted,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], to come into a apartment wearing a fashionable dress - still frightens me; at least it makes me shy, self-conscious, uneasy.' Yet in the meantime she loved clothing. 'Oh to be proficient to run… bring offthe garden in a new dress,' wrote Woolf, admiring a girl who 'scampered circular and round favor a hare'.
Do anyone of us ever forget our 1st gathering dress? Mine was a fairy costume, made by my mommy as my third birthday, sewn of pale translucent web with matching wings and a glittery silver wand. Whirling among, I felt above all delight, then shame, while a little chap pointed at me, calling out, 'You don't have any knickers on!'
Since then I have thought constantly approximately what makes the faultless party dress - and (for me, at fewest) it have to deliver 2 very assorted things: a sense of freedom and escapism, without any indignity. It's no agreeable dressing a party dress namely makes you feel overexposed - fashion is for many the craft of covering up for of detection. But neither do we absence apt feel earthbound at a celebratory occasion.
