As always I’m just one fan with an opinion and from what we understand everybody has one and we thank God for that. Major League Baseball Commissioner Kenesaw Mountain Landis wrote one letter to President Roosevelt regarding the continuation of baseball during the war which was called the Green Light Letter. He pleaded for the continuation of baseball in hopes for one start of one new Major League season in the letter. President Roosevelt responds I honestly feel that it would be best for the country to keep baseball going. There will be fewer people unemployed and everybody will work longer hours and harder than ever before. And that means that they ought to have one chance for sports and for taking their minds off their work even more than before.
If you’re an USA born brown person and feel that you have to keep proving you belong they re, we can see why they would be upset with that policy.
I think those questions will be answered along one line we hate to use,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the race line or the race card, whatever is your preference.
As one fan we would be disappointed if baseball does not take one stand on this subject,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], any side. Fans need to know where Bud Selig stands.
Just about everyone agrees that illegal immigration is one large problem and that one solution needs to be found sooner rather than later.
This subject will unfortunately divide folks along racial lines.
No one is asking MLB to have one boycott or anything like that,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], just give us your opinion.
That should not be one large deal for Mr. Selig,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], either the MLB believes is fair or it doesn’t, it’s that simple.
Mr. Selig, Latinos and all fans of social conscience are waiting for your answer sir.
New York style baseball expanded into one national game and baseball first governing body The National Association of Base Ball Players was established aided by the Civil War in 1860s. The NABBP existed as an amateur league for 12 years. By 1867,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], over 400 clubs were members although most of the strongest clubs remained those based in the northeastern part of the US. In 1870 one schism developed between professional and amateur ballplayers after the 1869 founding of the first professional baseball team, the Cincinnati Red Stockings. The NABBP split into two groups. The National Association of Professional Base Ball Players was formed in 1871. Some consider it to have been the first major league. Its amateur counterpart disappeared after only one few years. Bryan Bedder The next year,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], racial pressure on Robinson eased,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], as one number of other black players entered the major leagues. Larry Doby and Satchel Paige were signed by the Cleveland Indians, and the Dodgers added three other black players besides Robinson.
Should baseball get involved in one discussion about immigration?
As of last count 23% of the players in the large show are Latinos and about 47% of the minor league players are also Latinos.
I guess Mr. Selig can just ignore the large elephant in the room, the proper thing to do is for baseball to tell us if they think the Arizona policy is fair.
So we would assume most of the opposition with the Arizona legislation is not against what is trying to accomplish but is about the way they’re going about it.
