Second time foes,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]
Top-seeded Hunterdon Central and fifth-seed Bridgewater-Raritan are meeting for the second time this season Friday night in a North 2 IV semifinal. In 2002, Central beat Bridgewater-Raritan 33-6 on its way to a sectional final where it lost to Piscataway 20-7. Central beat Bridgewater-Raritan 14-7 in week four of the '02 season in which Bridgewater-Raritan assistant coach James [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] scored the Panthers' touchdown on a 14-yard run.
Game four is 1 p.m. Saturday Ciardi Field — this time a North 2 IV semifinal.
Piscataway and Phillipsburg have played just three times, but the games have certainly been memorable. Last year, the Chiefs rallied to tie the Stateliners 16-16 at Maloney Field, losing 19-16 in overtime when Anthony Castro hit a 20-yard field goal in an NJSIAA North 2 IV quarterfinal.
"We've got some good backs, no doubt," Stem said. "Obviously our line did a pretty good job blocking." [link widoczny dla zalogowanych]
Piscataway's attack will be enhanced by the return of junior running back Tevin Shaw (1,120 yards rushing) and two-way lineman Jonathan Kinslow, who both missed last weekend's 39-28 quarterfinal win over East Orange with an ankle sprain.
In 2005, Piscataway grabbed an early 6-0 lead on a Tony Logan run, but Phillipsburg — powered by fullback Ian Decker's 171 rushing yards — scored 15 unanswered points in a 15-6 win at Rutgers Stadium for the North 2 IV title. In 2004 — with future pros Kyle Wilson, Malcolm Jenkins and [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] on the field — it was linebacker Robert Damon who saved the day, making a great tackle to stop a two-point conversion to give Piscataway a wild 27-26 overtime victory at Rutgers for the sectional title.

Phillipsburg coach Bob Stem said he is concerned about being able to control the line of scrimmage.
"We've got to be able to (run) the ball," said Stem, who will be without starting quarterback Justin Scourzo (concussion) and starting tackle Eric Opitz (knee). "If we can't move the ball we are not going to do much in the game." [link widoczny dla zalogowanych]
The Stateliners have two 1,000-yard rushers in the same backfield for just the second in program history. Seniors Dana Lee and Gerald VanDerCruz have each already reached the plateau.
