My boyfriend and I went to Pourtal after eating across the street. Upon entering you notice the decor and ambiance is clean, dark and intimate. It is a tad bit confusing if it is bar service or regular table service. I was confused. We went to the bar,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], got a $40 wine card and I was still confused. The gal behind the bar didn't offer much help or advice.
I think the concept of the wine bar is great, especially because you have the freedom to try whatever wines you'd like. The prices seem a little high to me. We ordered the cheese plate to pair with our wines. I have to say the cheeses were better than the wines.
The overall atmosphere was nice,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], not too loud,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], not too quiet. Not too many people. Just enough space to walk around.
I guess I didn't know what to expect. I was expecting more of a wine tasting the kind you would get at a winery. The waitress never came to check on us or explain.
