FRESH from exiting Biba - after 2 gruelling seasons trying to reimagine the mark as the modern female - Bella Freud is behind on the vogue stage with a capsule collection for Dover Street Market. "What I adore is that it is always open to whichever spontaneous creative collaborations,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], which is an enjoyable direction to go,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]," the designer tells us. "This collection was nativity from an inspiring conversation I had with Adrian Joffe [husband of DSM author Rei Kawakubo] and Dickon Bowden [the store's common manager] one day in the Rose Bakery on the fourth floor of the store." The six-piece collection consists of black sweaters printed with various cat designs, inspired by the path disc covers often mix a classical picture with an incongruous backdrop. "I have always been partial to cats and I love cat paintings," Freud explains. "It corners out that Rei Kawakubo loves cats also. The entire fancy was quite serendipitous." As well as the DSM collaboration, the designer is preparing to launch her own-name tag - which will be modelled in a special series of images by Belarus-born artist and model Elle Muliarchyk - during London Fashion Week. "It is coming according well,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]," Freud confides. "It is called Demonstration and namely based nigh Paris circa 1968. It's all about magnificent looking, sulky French girls who all administer to look alluring, even when out aboard a protest march." Get in early before Freud-mania kicks.
