FOLLOWING its success last year,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], London Rocks - the Sotheby's-organised showcase of the best of British jewellery design talent - is back. Stephen Webster, Fiona Knapp and Pippa Small are among the 18 jewellers taking part in the selling exhibition which will be open to the public from September 14 to 18. "I am thrilled to have been given the opportunity again to showcase the work of those jewellery designers most of whom are currently working in the UK, and who are or soon will be highly collectable at auction," says Joanna Hardy,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], head of jewellery at Sotheby's London and the event's organiser. "It is my aim to educate discerning buyers that contemporary jewellery is an art form and to demonstrate the value of contemporary jewels as being far more than the inherent value of the materials that have gone into making them." This year, new names on show include Edinburgh College of Art graduate Andrew Lamb, whose work is inspired by optical illusions in nature and Central Saint Martins graduate Zoe Arnold,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych],[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], whose delicately complex designs are often inspired by her poetry combining found objects with precious materials.
