"Cecil Beaton was necessary to the cultural life of Britain and further in the twentieth century,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], both as a creator and a recorder," Giles Huxley-Parlour, adviser of photography at Chris Beetles Gallery, revealed. "He was a photographer, painter, illustrator, writer and Oscar-winning designer of sets and costumes. We are joyed to have collaborated with Sotheby's, painting on their unique archive,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], to send these fascinating pictures to public view."
Many of the prints will be obtainable to buy for the first time and - with approximately 70 prints on offer - it will be the most comprehensive Beaton exhibition for many annuals. The exhibition will be held at the Chris Beetles Gallery, 8 & 10 Ryder Street, London from April 22 to May 16.
