THE top names in American fashion will be climbing into limousines all over New York this evening and making their way to The New York Public Library, to find out who has won what at the glittering Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards 2007. Oscar de la Renta,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Proenza Schouler's Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough and Marc Jacobs are all in the running for the hotly-contested Womenswear Designer of the Year Award. Contenders for the Menswear Designer of the Year Award - Duckie Brown's Steven Cox and Daniel Silver,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Ralph Lauren and Italo Zuchelli for Calvin Klein - are equally strong contenders. Sponsored by Swarovski and now in their 25th year, the CFDA Awards are sure to be suitably dazzling and star-filled. Phillip Lim, Kate and Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte and Thakoon Panichgul are the nominees for the Swarovski Award for Womenswear,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], whilst Michael Bastian,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych],[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Tim Hamilton and Rag & Bone's David Neville and Marcus Wainwright are up for the menswear equivalent. Ralph Lauren will be presented with the first ever American Fashion Legend Award and the Lifetime Achievement Award will be renamed in honour of four-times CFDA Award winner Geoffrey Beene.
