The Golden Age of Comic Books
By and great, the adopted time frame because the golden age of funny books ran from a period from the 1930's through the mid-1950's. It was a prosperous period as the American comic paperback realm. Many of today's super heroes were inaugurated during this stage. Super heroes flourished in the golden age of comic books. Superman, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Batman, Robin and Hawkman were some of the heroes namely a new enterprise called Detective Comics alternatively DC comics, launched. During the 1940's a precursor to Marvel Comics, called Timely Comics, introduced their version of the super hero genre. They included Captain USA, The Human Torch and The Sub-Mariner. Ironically, the Captain Marvel comic books from Fawcett Comics outsold Superman and his associates during the golden old. There were literally hundreds of super powered and non super powered heroes that came and went.
The advent of world war two helped propel the comic paperback industries popularity. It was an cheap means to relax, read and imagine the nice guys preponderate over the wrong guys. In those days, Superman regularly assisted the leagues thwart Hitler and the axis powers. What better path to defeat the antagonist than to watch the heroes in operation? Defeating Hitler was ashore everyone's mind, and the accent relief comic books invested was advantageous to a juvenile male in a diplomatic land busy in journal combats.
Superman, Batman and Robin helped the war exertion by advertising war bonds. Uncle Sam may have wanted you, merely the super heroes loaning themselves to the war dissemination helped the reason. The war was meaningful and mighty in the evolution of the super heroes during the golden age. However, there were other ingredients too. There were comic books during that period that were not based aboard super heroes. The genre began to alteration during the latter portion of the golden age, primarily afterward World War Two. Westerns were taking firm root in society for the readership declined for the super heroes. Horror, thriller, irony and science fiction always fraught the vacuum that was left during the decline. The downward trend was precipitated at, in my opinion, the ambiance of the times with McCarthyism and books being issued that recommended comic books and their ilk were prejudicial to the society's young folk minds.
The presentation of the comic comics during the golden age were well-liked too.
Bugs bunny and Donald duck premiered. The funny comics instilled laughter in the spectators and that was major. The magnitude of laughter during stressful times cannot be overstated. The atmosphere was rife with the arrival of the cold war and the atomic age. Bomb shelters littered the nation. With that being said, the funny comic books helped people express pastime in their journal routine.
