WITH paparazzi on the pavements, in the bushes and even in the water (on boats of course, though it may well get to the point where they're swimming with their cameras aloft), it's little wonder the stars at Cannes are going to great lengths to keep themselves away from the fray off the red carpet. Yesterday's hot event was low-key cocktails on the terrace of the Martinez,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], where Mischa Barton hit the dancefloor with the ubiquitous James Blunt, while Jake Gyllenhall was spotted having dinner at Mougins - the picturesque medieval village just out of town which will shortly be transformed for the annually-anticipated AmfAR ball. The place to stay is the also out-of-town Hotel Du Cap,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], an unadulterated haven of luxury in what,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], let's face it, is one of the most luxurious spots on Earth right now: Kirsten Dunst has been spotted flitting into the elevator and Harvey Weinsten,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], with girlfriend Georgina Chapman - half of the creative duo behind Marchesa, which has had its fair share of premiere outings this week - are guests, along with the Ocean's 13 crew. George Clooney motored in on an impressive boat - to the obvious delight of the crowds - to join castmates Brad Pitt,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych],[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Matt Damon et al yesterday prior to the film's premiere later this week. The hottest ticket for tonight? The party for Not on Our Watch, the charity the Ocean's 13 boys set up to raise awareness of the humanitarian crisis in Darfur. Elsewhere, inimitable party-planner Fawaz Gruosi, of De Grisogono,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], will host a black tie dinner with guest of honour Eva Mendes.
