a story about her grandmother, a young forerunner girl with a dream. Her story speaks eloquently to anybody who knows where their predecessors came from and to those of us who hope we did understand.
Dominica was a juvenile girl who dreamed of having her own room in the neighboring Belmont Castle. She loved to emulate her dad about as he went, helping him and listening to his stories approximately the history of Belmont Castle. She was very melancholy while her dad told her he was going to America to watch if he could make a better living for his family.
Dominica's father made a grueling journey cross the sea and the prairie to Kansas, where he made a living as a stone mason and did odd jobs until he had ample money to go back to Switzerland and send his family to the New World.
There they bought a small bit of land and he and his family worked hard to build shelter and a life for themselves. When they tried to calculate of ways to make enough money to pay for their land, it was Dominica who had the fancy to herd the metropolis residents cattle to their land to graze during the day and herd them back to their landlords at nightfall. Dominica helped herd cattle every day.
Sometimes when she was herding the livestock, she would detect herself dreaming about the pretty mountains in Switzerland and living in a lovely palace.
As Dominica grew, she learned to cook and bake, and she became an expert housewife. She began working at the Poor Farm, a place where destitute human could come and work for food and shelter. There she fell in love with a young woodworker named Marrell. He asked for her hand in wedding and they were marital in 1898. Dominica and Rella (Marrell) made a home and Dominca was elated, but she continued to dream of living in Belmont Castle.
Dominica and Rella and their sons lived on a farm. The years sped at and presently the boys were grown and had families of their own. During the Great Depression [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the boys and their families moved behind to the plough with Dominica and Rella.
Being grandparents they determined they needed distinct home. They moved an age house to the east side of their property and began production it into a livable house for "Grandma and Grandpa."
During this process [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], money was in short supply so Dominica decided they could cover the house with rocks from the river bed that ran beneath the house. "Minnie (Dominica) was seeing the house chance extra beautiful daily, wrote Andrews. When the house was finished, Dominca decided to appoint the house Belmont. They accustomed the bottoms of green cup flasks to location the appoint aboard the front of the house. Now Dominica would have her own chamber in her own Belmont Castle. Dominica and Rella enjoyed several annuals alive at Belmont and they had many family parties when there. The fable continues as Dominica and Marrell experience the second greatest adventure of their lives.
