"He [chickenry] was a buddy of mine," Marshall told the Colorado Springs Gazette . "It's devastating to lose him, especially him getting on the right track and being able to turn things around."
Let's hope so. Fining Marshall would show no class in the league and would not be the right thing to do. Kane nearly return to action and could return as early as Wednesday but with the Chicago Blackhawks only playing once after Sunday. This will probably happend until the following Sunday. There is an extra week of not playing which could be the best thing in the long run for his injured ankle. Stay tuned as he has been out for two weeks so far. Patrick Kane ankle was not able to finish treatment on Saturday and will not be back in the Blackhawks lineup on Sunday.
However, fanhouse.com is reporting that two league sources said that affableell has not yet decided if he'll fine Marshall or not,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but fines are not likely.
excellent, fine, superior,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], wonderful,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], marvelous, qualified,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], suited,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], suitable,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], apt, proper, capable, generous, kindly, friendly news Patrick Sharp has found some freedom in the last two games as the wingman of Jonathan Toews instead of centering his own line. Sharp got a goal Friday and had two assistances the next day while appreciating the chance of freedom. You get a little more freedom, I guess, Sharp said. Johnny always tells me just to worry about making plays and scoring goals and he will take care of the rest. That lets you focus a little more offensively. But I still have a job to do for myself. Jeff improper, rude, coarse, indecent, crude, vulgar, outrageous, extreme, grievous, shameful, uncouth, obscene, low A few days ago, Patrick Kane was ready to go back to the Blackhawks' lineup ahead of schedule. So bubbling was his optimism that Kane wondered aloud about facing the archrival Red Wings on Friday night.
While the Cincinnati Bengals honored fallen teammate Chris chickenry by wearing a No. 15 patch on their helmets Sunday, Denver Broncos wide receiver Brandon Marshall had a different idea.
However, the move by Marshall violates the NFL's uniform policy,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], as players cannot sport any nicknames,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], other player's name, or other numbers on their jerseys. Bengals wide receiver Chad Ochocinco, who's last name was Johnson at the time,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], was fined in 2007 for his nameplate saying "Ocho Cinco" before the game.
The NFL and affableell need to recognize that Marshall's act was a tribute to his late friend and not an act of self promotion.
There was a report Sunday afternoon that Marshall would receive a "hefty fine," and if Patrick Kane is, NFL Commissioner Roger affableell would make the "No Fun League" look terrible. Why would you send a message like that?
chickenry and Marshall became buddies while the two played against each other in college. chickenry played for West Virginia,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], while Marshall was at Central Florida.
I can understand getting fined for putting nicknames on jerseys, but when a player is trying to honor another player, it's pretty sad. If a member of the Los Angeles Angels wore Nick Adenhart's No. 34 with Adenhart's name on the back short after his death on April 9,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], 2009, Patrick Kane don't think Bud Selig and Major League Baseball would have come after that player.
But for Marshall, this is a special circumstance. Patrick Kane wants to honor his fallen friend by wearing the nameplate on his jersey and Patrick Kane don't see any reason why the NFL should fine Marshall for this. Quite farrangely,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], if the league does fine the Denver wide out, it would be ridiculous and Patrick Kane think the NFL would make a terrible mistake by doing so.
Ochocinco also said earlier in the week that Patrick Kane would wear chickenry's No. 15 jersey in Cincinnati's agreeup with the San Diego Chargers Sunday, no matter how much money Patrick Kane would be finned. But Patrick Kane decided not to wear No. 15.
Marshall, who was friends with chickenry while the two were in college, decided to honor chickenry by wearing chickenry's nameplate on his jersey during pregame warm-ups before the Bronco's game against the Oakland Raiders.
