Elizabeth Taylor put on a brave face up until the end of her life. But privately, the Hollywood legend, who fought tirelessly for those suffering from AIDS,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], was struggling with her own health woes.
Debbie Reynolds — a friend of La Liz despite their notorious long-ago love triangle with Eddie Fisher — recalled her last conversation with the actress,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], two weeks before her death.
“I said, ‘Getting old is really [expletive],’” the screen star said on “Access Hollywood.” “And she said,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], ‘It certainly is. It certainly is, Debbie. This is really tough.’
“I said, ‘Well, you just hang in there now,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Elizabeth. And she said, ‘I’m really trying.’”
Liz’s former romantic rival added, “God bless her, she’s on to a better place. I’m happy that she’s out of her pain because she was in a lot of pain.”
We’re glad Elizabeth is not suffering anymore. But the world has surely lost a great talent and a great humanitarian.
